What is Tutriva?
Tutriva is a global tutoring platform that connects students and independent tutors directly. It is not a school or tutoring institution. Students choose their tutors, and tutors manage their own teaching services.
Is Tutriva only for Metro Vancouver?
No. Tutriva is a global platform. We are launching first in Metro Vancouver, including Vancouver, Richmond, Burnaby, Surrey, and nearby areas. Online tutoring is available worldwide.
Is Tutriva free to use?
Students can browse and connect with tutors on the platform. Tutor membership pricing may be introduced in the future.
Does Tutriva take commission from lessons?
No. Tutriva does not take any commission. Tutors keep 100% of what they earn. Students and tutors connect on the platform and arrange lessons independently.

Tutor

How do tutors get paid?
You arrange payment directly with students. You choose your pricing (hourly or packages), when payment happens (before or after lessons), and the method—e-transfer, bank transfer, WeChat Pay, and so on. Tutriva does not process payments.
How do tutors get students?
Students discover tutors through tutor profiles on the platform, search and discovery, and broader exposure such as community and media. When someone is interested, they contact you directly.
Do you assign students to tutors?
No. We do not assign or match students for you. You choose which inquiries and students to accept.
Can tutors choose their own schedule?
Yes. You control your availability, teaching format, and how each lesson is structured.
Can tutors teach online or in person?
Yes. You can teach online (for example Zoom or Google Meet) or in person when it works locally for you and the student.
What tools do tutors use for online lessons?
You can use any platform you prefer, such as Zoom, Google Meet, or Tencent Meeting.
Do you provide training or teaching materials?
We do not provide formal training or a structured teaching curriculum today. We are happy to share general guidance on curriculum when helpful, and we may host tutor networking or sharing sessions in the future.
Who can become a tutor?
We welcome teachers, university students, professionals, and subject specialists—as long as you have strong knowledge or teaching ability in your subject.
Can tutors set their own rates?
Yes. You set your own pricing and can update it anytime.
How do tutors build credibility on the platform?
You build trust through a strong, accurate profile, clear subject expertise, and—over time—student feedback as we add reviews in future updates.
